FAQ
Questions founders ask.
How much do pitch deck services cost?
Business Plan Firm's pitch deck services cost a fixed $1,950 for Essential, a written and designed investor deck; $2,950 for Standard, adding a five-year financial model, a data-room one-pager and unlimited revisions within the agreed scope; and $3,950 for Premium, adding syndication or LP modeling. The price is agreed on the call before work starts and does not move.
Do you write the content or just design the slides?
Business Plan Firm's pitch deck service does both, in that order. We write the investor narrative and every line of copy first, agree the slide-by-slide story with you, then design around it, so the pitch deck design serves the story rather than decorating it. Design-only work, where you supply final copy and we style it, is quoted separately.
Can you also build the financial model?
Yes. Business Plan Firm's pitch deck service includes the five-year model in Standard at $2,950 and Premium at $3,950, and it can be added to Essential. We recommend it: the projection slide is only as strong as the workbook behind it, and you receive that workbook in Excel so you can answer diligence questions yourself.
How fast can you deliver a pitch deck?
Business Plan Firm's standard turnaround for a pitch deck is 7 to 10 days from the strategy call, assuming your numbers and traction data reach us early. Our fastest rush turnaround is 48 hours, agreed and priced in advance. Tell us your investor meeting date and we will say plainly whether we can hit it.
Can I post my pitch deck online?
It depends on the exemption. In a Rule 506(b) offering, Rule 502(c) bars the company and anyone acting on its behalf from any form of general solicitation or general advertising, and SEC lists unrestricted public websites as general solicitation. Rule 506(c) permits it, but all purchasers must be accredited and the company must take reasonable steps to verify that. SEC calls the question fact-specific, so confirm with securities counsel.
Can friends and family who are not accredited invest after seeing my deck?
Rule 506(b) allows up to 35 non-accredited purchasers in any 90-calendar-day period, each with enough financial and business experience, alone or with a purchaser representative, to weigh the investment. Rule 506(c) allows none. An individual's two financial tests are net worth over $1,000,000 excluding the home, or income above $200,000 ($300,000 joint) in each of the two most recent years. The issuer's directors and executive officers also qualify.
What can my pitch deck say at a demo day?
Rule 148 keeps a demo day pitch from counting as general solicitation, which matters in a Rule 506(b) round, if its conditions are met. One condition limits your offering information to four items: that you are offering or plan to offer securities, their type and amount, the intended use of proceeds, and the unsubscribed amount. Valuation is not on that list, so ask securities counsel first.
When is Form D due after the first investor commits?
Under Rule 503(a), Form D is due no later than 15 calendar days after the first sale, moved to the next business day if that falls on a weekend or holiday. Form D's instructions treat the first sale as the date the first investor is irrevocably contractually committed to invest, which can come before the money arrives. There is no SEC fee; states may require their own filings.
Do you build real estate, syndication and fund decks?
Yes. Business Plan Firm's pitch deck service covers syndications, LP presentations and fund raises in Premium at $3,950, which adds syndication or LP-level modeling to everything in Standard. Scope, such as the number of assets and entities, is confirmed on the call before the fixed price is agreed.
What files do I actually receive?
Business Plan Firm's pitch deck service delivers an editable PowerPoint file (.pptx) built in your brand, plus a PDF export. Standard and Premium add the five-year financial model as a working Excel file and a one-page data-room summary. The source files are yours: change a number or reorder slides before a meeting without coming back to us.
Will you sign an NDA before I share my numbers?
Yes. Business Plan Firm signs an NDA on every pitch deck engagement, and will sign yours before the strategy call if you prefer, so you can speak freely about the round. We name clients only with their written permission; everything else stays confidential. Nothing you send us is reused in another client's work or shown as a sample.
Do I need a business plan as well as a deck?
Whether you need a business plan too depends on who the reader is. A deck is the document for an equity conversation. If a bank, an SBA lender or an immigration filing has asked you for a business plan, a deck does not substitute for it. If both apply, such as raising equity while applying for a loan, say so and we will quote the two together.
Do you introduce us to investors?
No. Business Plan Firm does not find investors for you or sell investor lists, and takes no success fee. We never charge a percentage of anything you borrow, invest or raise. We build the pitch deck and documents you take into meetings you arrange yourself. If a firm offers you both the deck and the investors for one fee, ask exactly what the fee buys.
